Transformational Impact: Consciousness and the Art of Discerning Leadership

This talk will examine how consciousness and the capacity for discernment serve as vital foundations for transformational leadership. By cultivating deeper awareness and presence, leaders are able to make wiser, more sustainable, and more humane decisions. The art of discernment will be presented as a core practice for aligning values with action—paving the way toward a more conscious, compassionate, and impactful style of leadership oriented toward the common good.

Meet Cristina Giménez Thomsen, PhD

Professor, Operations, Innovation and Technology Management Department 
Esade

Dr. Cristina Giménez Thomsen is a Full Professor in Operations, Innovation and Technology Management at Esade and serves as Director of Identity and Mission. Her teaching and research focus on sustainable operations and supply chain management, with more than 40 peer-reviewed publications and recognition among Stanford University’s “Top 2% Scientists Worldwide 2023.” At Esade, she has led transformative projects including the school’s first sustainability plan and initiatives integrating mission-driven education across the curriculum. Internationally, she has held leadership positions with EurOMA, editorial roles in top academic journals, and advisory board appointments at leading business schools in Europe. She also co-chairs the IAJU global task force on Jesuit business education, driving collaboration and innovation across continents.
