BGS Gives Back





Beta Gamma Sigma members have been bettering their communities in a variety of ways as part of BGS Gives Back.



BGS chapters and members are making a difference through our BGS Gives Back initiative. We thank them for their dedication to service!

Starting in 2024, BGS will introduce an annual theme inspired by the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to guide initiatives, though all chapters and members are encouraged to participate in any service activity that resonates with them. 

For the 2024/2025 academic year, the highlighted SDG theme is Quality Education with a focus on youth literacy.



Examples of ways to give back include:

  • Donating books to schools or organizations
  • Hosting a Book Drive or School Supply Drive (e.g., pens, paper, crayons)
  • Making a Children’s Book with your Chapter
  • Volunteering with a reading program or as a tutor
  • Hosting a Bingo for Books event

Share your activities by completing the BGS Gives Back form at the bottom of this page. Logging activities showcases BGS’s global impact and helps chapters earn honor roll points.

JUNIOR ACHIEVEMENT

Beta Gamma Sigma has partnered with Junior Achievement (JA) to make it even easier for our members to give back. JA is the nation’s largest organization dedicated to increasing the knowledge and skills of youth for their academic and economic success. There are a variety of JA programs available that teach students from kindergarten through high school important real-world concepts in financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and work readiness.



UNITED WAY

Across the globe, United Way volunteer efforts target education, financial stability and health, because those are cornerstones of individual and collective success. United Way provides localized volunteer opportunities on their website.


AMERICA NEEDS YOU

(ANY) was founded on the belief that socio-economic status should not be a barrier to college persistence and career success. The ANY Fellows Program is a two-year mentorship and career development program for high-achieving, low-income, first-generation college students.
