BGS Gives Back

Beta Gamma Sigma members around the world are making a meaningful difference through BGS Gives Back, our global service initiative rooted in the Society’s values of Purpose, Leadership, and Community.

From collegiate chapters to alumni and individual members, the BGS community continues to create positive impact by supporting education, workforce readiness, and local communities. We are deeply grateful for the time, energy, and care our members dedicate to service.

Our Focus: Quality Education & Youth Literacy

Guided by the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), BGS uses an annual theme to help align service efforts and amplify collective impact.

For the 2025–2026 academic year, BGS Gives Back will spotlight Quality Education, with a special focus on improving youth literacy.

Members are encouraged to participate in service activities that align with their interests, location, and capacity—whether locally, virtually, or individually.

Ways to Get Involved

Chapters and members can support youth literacy and education in a variety of ways, including:

  • Partnering with organizations like Junior Achievement
    • Volunteer as a classroom speaker (in person or virtual)
    • Support financial literacy, entrepreneurship, or career readiness programs
    • Coordinate chapter-wide JA volunteer days
    • More details on the partnership with JA can be found HERE.
  • Supporting local schools, libraries, or nonprofits
    • Donate books or host a book drive
    • Organize a school supply drive (e.g., notebooks, pens, crayons)
  • Creating hands-on, chapter-led projects
    • Write and assemble children’s books as a chapter activity
    • Host a “Bingo for Books” or similar literacy-focused fundraiser
  • Volunteering time and talent
    • Serve as a reading buddy, tutor, or mentor
    • Volunteer with local literacy programs or after-school initiatives

Share Your Impact

We encourage all chapters and members to log their service activities by completing the BGS Gives Back form at the bottom of this page.

  • Collegiate chapters that submit their activities by June 30 each year will be entered into a random drawing for $250 USD to support future chapter initiatives.
  • Logging your activities helps showcase BGS’s global impact, supports honor roll recognition, and inspires other chapters to get involved.

No matter the size of your effort, every action contributes to a stronger, more connected BGS community—and a brighter future through education.
