What is BGS?

Beta Gamma Sigma is the international business honor society. Our mission is to honor student excellence in business education, develop forward-thinking business leaders, and foster a global community to be catalysts for good. We achieve this by providing lifetime value to our members through a variety of programs, events, opportunities, and partnerships. Our value proposition to our members is summarized best by our purpose points: Purpose, Leadership, and Community.



Through purpose, we support our members to develop and work towards something larger than themselves and give them the tools to make lasting changes in their communities. In leadership, we provide professional development and experiences that can help members become leaders in their academic and professional careers. How to Join

To become a BGS member, you will first need to be a student at an AACSB-accredited university that has a BGS chapter. Not sure if your school has a chapter? You can view a list of schools here. Your school’s BGS chapter will determine eligibility and send invitations based on the following criteria:



Top 10% undergraduate students who have completed at least half of their sophomore (second) year.
The top 20% of master’s students are eligible after completing half of their program.
All doctoral candidates who have successfully defended their dissertation.
Transfer students who meet the above criteria for undergraduate, master's, or doctoral qualifications and have completed one full year of coursework at their chapter’s university.
Select business faculty members from AACSB-accredited schools are eligible to join.


If you are eligible* to become a member, your university will notify BGS, and we will send you an invitation via email. You can accept your membership by clicking the link in that invitation message, paying the membership fee, and completing your member profile. Once completed, you will be a Beta Gamma Sigma lifetime member!
