Tapping, virtually

If your school is doing virtual learning, you can still invite eligible members to join and make it a memorable experience for them.

Even though the CMS requires you to add a ceremony date, you don’t have to organize a ceremony of your own. If you’re pressed for time and resources, use one of the dates for our societywide virtual ceremonies (listed above) as your chapter’s ceremony date—then encourage your new members to attend the societywide virtual event.

This way, you give your eligible students access to their membership benefits now—and you can always invite them to in-person recognition events later in the year.

Admin/Advisor community on ConnectBGS

The chapter admin and advisor community on ConnectBGS is a great place to share best practices and get to know other chapter leaders around the world.

To access this group, you’ll log into the BGS website with your log in credentials and click ConnectBGS which can be found in the upper right corner near the sign in button. Once in, you will go to Communities > General Interest Communities and select the BGS Admin and Advisor group to begin connecting. Can’t find the community? Email us at chapters@betagammasigma.org.

Societywide virtual ceremonies are back!

BGS will be hosting four virtual recognition ceremonies through the end of 2020. All new members this academic year will be invited to attend, but these events are not intended to overshadow any chapter-specific activities you are already planning—attendance is completely optional, and we encourage you to continue holding your chapter’s usual recognition events, if possible.

Advisors, admins, and deans are welcome to attend as well! To register, select the date that is most convenient for you:

September 30 at 8:00 AM Central

October 29 at 8:00 AM Central

November 19 at 5:00 PM Central

December 15 at 5:00 PM Central

These virtual ceremonies will be offered webinar-style—members will not be mentioned individually due to the volume of participants in attendance.
