Chapter Supplies Ordering
Supplies, promotional materials and invitation packets provided by the Central Office are necessary to accomplish the purpose of the chapter and the Society. Chapter supplies can be ordered using the Chapter Supply Order Form
The completed order form may be submitted to the Central Office by email or regular mail. Be sure to include a UPS-deliverable address (no P.O. boxes), the shipping method, and the name, phone number and email address of someone the Central Office can contact in case there are questions concerning the order. Please note that any expedited shipping charges will be at the chapter’s expense. Supplies are normally shipped within two days of receipt of the order in the Central Office. To avoid expedited shipping charges, chapters should order supplies early in the semester. Apparel and gift items listed on the supply order form may be viewed at the BGS Store.
Doctoral Student Invitations
The Central Office has invitation packets available that are specifically designed for doctoral students upon completion of their program. Chapters may request the invitation packets using the Chapter Supply Order Form. All doctoral students at schools accredited by AACSB International that have a chapter of Beta Gamma Sigma are eligible for membership at the end of their program and should be considered for invitation to membership.
If a chapter chooses to send a list of doctoral students who have completed all degree requirements to the Central Office, the staff at the Central Office will extend the doctoral invitation to eligible students for the chapter. The list should include the students’ names, email addresses and current mailing addresses. Completing doctoral students will then respond to the Central Office, which will in turn process the memberships, collect the $65 (U.S.) lifetime membership fee and forward to the chapter the appropriate copy of the Membership Data Profile (MDP) forms.
Membership Certificate and Materials Ordering
It is the desire of the BGS Board of Governors for every collegiate chapter induction ceremony to be as meaningful as possible for the students being inducted. To achieve this goal, chapters should have the following items available for distribution at the ceremony: membership certificates, lapel pins and new member packets for each new member. To place an order for membership certificates and materials, chapters must use the Membership/Certificate Order Form.
After the order form is completed and a list of names is attached, it should be emailed or mailed to the Central Office for processing. (Note: The Central Office prefers that orders are emailed, as that reduces the processing and proofing time required for each order.) Orders should be placed with the Central Office at least 10 working days prior to the ceremony date. Any order placed within four working days of the ceremony will be considered a rush order by the Central Office staff and may require expedited shipping to arrive in time for presentation at the ceremony.
Shipping Charges
The first standard delivery order of each semester and replacement certificate orders will be shipped at no charge to the chapter. Expedited shipping via UPS (Next Day, 2nd Day, and 3 Day Select) will be billed to the chapter for actual shipping cost at the end of each month.
Second Recognition Certificates
Chapters may recognize students who qualify for a second time with a Second Recognition Certificate. This special certificate is available for Master’s and Doctoral students who became members at the junior or senior levels and now have qualified again for BGS membership. The charge for the Second Recognition Certificate is $5 (U.S.). The Second Recognition Certificate can be ordered on the Membership/Certificate Order Form. Additional information regarding previous membership is required at the time the order is placed with the Central Office. See the order form for additional details.
Replacement Certificates
Replacement certificates can be purchased by collegiate chapters through the Central Office. If there was an error to the original certificate that was the fault of the Central Office, there will be no charge for the replacement certificate. There is a $5 (U.S.) charge for other circumstances, including but not limited to: chapter error, member wants an additional certificate, and member name change.
Replacement/Additional Charter
Each collegiate chapter is issued a charter at the time of the chapter’s installation. Some chapters request additional or replacement charters for various reasons (college/university or school of business changes its name, chapter wants to display a charter in additional locations, etc.) The cost for each additional or replacement charter is $10 (U.S.). |
